very quick surprise dinner with viv and her fam...my mom had just helped them move up so we stopped in for a couple hours for dinner and to see their new house.

ladies and gentlemen…HE’S HOME!!! thank you Jesus for the safe return of my love. we have had a great week together…i was off of work which was such a blessing. the pics above are the bulk of this post. below I’ll give a brief synopsis of what’s to come for us, and then end with a text that tony received from one of his men this week that paints the perfect picture of why i’m proud to be mrs. leibig.

For us…I got back to work tomorrow. Sad, however the good news is that my husband will be home when i get here at the end of the day! i can’t believe it. so exciting. the other good news is that i now have a partner again at work. thank goodness. since early june i have been the only permanent provider on my team since my last partner separated from the air force. what this means is that i have been covering labs and phone calls and appointments for not only my own 1300 patients, but also for all of hers. this new doc being here now is a tremendous relief. however, we are still short 6 providers in the clinic total, so things are still tight and stressful. but at this point, i’ll take what i can get. once he gets settled in, i hope to get back to teaching the PALS and ACLS courses periodically again. I also hope to start doing some writing of case studies for journal submission.

Tony is getting settled in. he will be working to pursue active duty and his dream of flying. lots of different steps ahead and hoops to jump through. together we’re seeking God’s wisdom and direction. i love the leadership of this man, and am so glad he’s home. just below i’ll type a text that one of his men sent him. tony is a leader and i know that although alot of this deployment was frustrating to him, God used him. he started a men’s group while he was there, and as you can see below he led well in and out of that group.

Text from troop: “I never had the proper opportunity to say thank you. Thank you for taking care of me on this deployment and making sure I was on point when my direct leadership had nothing for me. Throughout this entire deployment there were a plethora of moments where i wasn’t given information, shown the right direction or even left in the dark but you made sure i was informed, on the correct path, and even shined a light or two so that i could find my way and for that again i thank you. Enjoy your leave, do great things, and i’ll see you again soon. A soldier returning home. ”

i’m a proud wife, and i’m better for knowing this man.

peace.
